Los habitantes de El Tamarindo en la isla #Coche, estado #NuevaEsparta en #Venezuela viven una terrible #sequía que los obliga a recolectar agua de lluvia para hidratarse y preparar los alimentos. Nelly López es una de las vecinas afectadas, que se las ha ingeniado para almacenar el #aguadelluvia. Relató que instaló una canaleta alrededor del techo de su casa para direccionar el vital líquido desde el techo hasta un tanque en el patio de su vivienda.

Con gran indignación Nelly comentó que desde hace siete años no llega agua por tubería y han tenido que aprovechar la lluvia para poder tomar agua, preparar alimentos y bañarse, mientras que usan agua de mar para asear la casa y los baños.

Explica que el agua de lluvia es hervida antes de consumirla, sobre todo para su hija menor que aún es una bebé

“Lo que estamos pasando es una crisis de agua, de comida, lo que nunca se ha visto en esta Isla se está viendo. Le pedimos a Dios que nos mande agua del cielo para poder tomar agua y hacer comida”.

Explicó que deben trasladarse hasta los otros caseríos de la isla de Coche para llenar una pimpina, para trasladarse deben ubicar bolívares en efectivo para pagar el autobús, lo cual es bastante difícil.

Por su parte, Roberto Lunar, destacó que la Alcaldía de Villalba envía cisternas para tratar de palear esta crisis, pero estos camiones llegan cada tres meses.

Ante esta situación los habitantes de la población de #ElTamarindo deben aprovechar los aguaceros para almacenar agua. A pesar de que el agua proviene de la lluvia los residentes de esta zona no han tenido problemas estomacales.

Asimismo, Pedro Suárez, vecino del sector, dice que cuando no llueve están como los camellos y les toca esperar una cisterna que viene desde el sector El #Guamache repartiendo agua a los habitantes de San Pedro quienes son los que más sufren por el vital líquido en la isla de Coche.
